Welcome to the Wildlands

Humanity left Earth behind. In 2187, you're on the first ship back — and the landing does not go to plan.
FLARE: Homecoming is a free browser strategy game about rebuilding civilization on a planet that evolved without us. You crash-land in the Australian Wildlands, build a settlement out of the wreckage, and fight for territory on a persistent shared world map — turn-based tactical battles on a hex grid, drone armies, alliances, and wildlife that has had 140 years to get ideas.
Where the game stands
The game is playable right now, in your browser, with no download. The core loop is in: base building, a deep tech tree, hero commanders, companion creatures, PvE operations across the map, and full territorial PvP with alliance warfare — reinforcements, march interceptions, coordinated sieges, the lot.
We've just come off the first closed playtest and a long hardening pass: combat balance, save reliability, performance at scale, and a few hundred smaller fixes driven directly by playtester feedback.
The road to beta
The next stretch is about opening up. This site is step one — a public home for the game and the studio. From here, dev logs like this one will track what's shipping and why, honestly, including the stuff that didn't work.
If you read this far, you may as well see the crash site for yourself.
